As of June 16, 2025, I have lived in NYC for three full months.

I’ve experienced wild encounters, joyful highs, and tough days—that’s just part of choosing city life. But every single day, I’m more grateful I took the leap.

Five years ago, I couldn’t even imagine living anywhere but my hometown. I dreamed of moving, sure—but deep down, I wasn’t sure I’d ever actually go through with it.

Now? I’m writing this from my own little apartment in NYC. Each day gets a bit easier. I’m learning the neighborhoods, finding new favorite spots, and slowly settling into life far from home.

I have a regular barber now—which is a big change for me, considering my mom’s been cutting my hair since birth. Well, except for that one time she didn’t, and we both instantly regretted it. (I have to say, I think this guy did a pretty damn good job)

They recognize me at my little bodega the moment I walk in.

And the regulars at the bar where I work know me by name. They treat me like I belong, like I’m one of them. I don’t feel so new anymore.

Needless to say, this life-changing decision has been one of the best I have ever made.

Cheers to the future and creating new memories!
